Wrong question about Ayya Vaikundar: Request to grant grace marks

Nagercoil, Sept 5: The Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) has issued a statement through its State Women's Wing Coordinator Maria Jennifer regarding a mistake in the TNPSC Junior Assistant recruitment exam. A question about Ayya Vaikundar incorrectly translated his title 'Mudisoodum Perumal' into English as 'Haircutting God,' which the party claims is a gross mistranslation that insults a prideful Tamil personality.

The statement questioned whether there are no competent translators in the TNPSC and accused the DMK government of consistently insulting Tamil scholars and icons. It described Ayya Vaikundar as a revolutionary who fought against caste injustices and social evils. The NTK demanded that the TNPSC and the Tamil Nadu government apologize for this blunder, cancel the specific question that confused candidates, and award grace marks to everyone who took the test. Furthermore, the party suggested that the question-setting committee must include scholars with high linguistic proficiency to prevent such errors in the future.
