Nagercoil, Feb 27: Veteran leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and freedom fighter Comrade Nallakannu passed away in Chennai due to old age. Following this, an all-party silent tribute meeting was held in front of the Jeeva statue near Anna Stadium in Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district. In this meeting, Kanyakumari Member of Parliament Vijay Vasanth participated and paid floral tribute to Nallakannu's portrait. The silent memorial meeting was attended by Kanyakumari MLA Thalavai Sundaram, Congress Nagercoil Metropolitan District President Naveen Kumar, CPI(M) District Secretary R. Sellaswamy, CITU executive Noor Mohamed, DMK Metropolitan Secretary Anand, MDMK District Secretary Vetrivel, Naam Tamilar Katchi Maria Jenifer, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi Zonal Secretary Bagalavan, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam representative S.R. Madhavan, along with various other party members and administrators.
