Nagercoil, Nov 11: On behalf of the Naam Tamilar Katchi, Marungoor area secretary Marcus and Women’s Wing State Coordinator Maria Jennifer led a group of residents from Marungoor Amaravathivilai to submit a petition at the Nagercoil District Collector's office. The petition states that a TASMAC (liquor) shop is operating in the Amaravathivilai area under the Marungoor Town Panchayat in Kanyakumari district. Numerous residences, temples, and schools are located in this vicinity. Consequently, the general public must pass by the liquor shop daily. Furthermore, liquor consumers drink in public places and throw empty bottles there, causing distress to female students. It also leads to heavy traffic congestion. Therefore, the petition urged for the immediate removal of the TASMAC shop.
