A person named Solomon Deepak had filed a case in the Madurai High Court stating that a TASMAC liquor shop on the Marungur-Amaravathi road in Kanyakumari district was causing a disturbance to the general public and female students. Hearing the case, the court ordered appropriate action to be taken and a report to be filed. In this context, it was reported by the government side that following an inspection by the TASMAC District Manager, the shop has been closed and will be shifted to another location that does not cause a nuisance to the public. Recording this submission, Justices Jayachandran and Ramakrishnan closed the case.
