Sanitation Workers' Protest: NTK Maria Jennifer Condemns DMK Government

Nagercoil, Aug 15: Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Women’s Wing Coordinator Maria Jennifer issued a statement regarding the ongoing sanitation workers' protest. She emphasized that the struggle will not end at the Ripon Building but will persist. She claimed that the DMK government’s anti-people attitude in suppressing the peaceful protest of sanitation workers is nothing new, citing historical instances where the government used 'state terrorism' to crush people's revolutions, such as the Manjolai plantation workers' protest. Jennifer questioned whether the DMK came to power for the welfare of the people or for their own family interests, pointing out that the Chief Minister was reportedly watching an in-house production movie while workers were suffering. The statement concluded by saying that the protest will continue until the government's grip on power loosens, and the anger and tears of the people will eventually throw the government out of power like garbage.
