Pressure will be applied to the government to find a permanent solution to sea erosion: NTK State Executive Maria Jennifer assures!

In Puthanthurai beach village of Kanyakumari district, Maria Jennifer, the state coordinator of the Women's Wing of Naam Tamilar Katchi, met with residents affected by severe sea erosion. She noted that fishermen are continuously losing their homes and belongings due to the encroaching sea. Recently, 13 houses were damaged, leading fishermen to protest with a road blockade. Although requests were made last year for a temporary wave breaker wall and the District Collector claimed to have sent funding requests to relevant departments, the project remains stalled due to administrative negligence. She criticized the local MLA Thalavai Sundaram for a lack of concern. While the District Collector is suggesting relocation, Jennifer insisted on immediate sea erosion prevention measures. She declared that Naam Tamilar Katchi would stand by the people and maintain political pressure until a permanent solution is achieved. State coordinator Deepakh Solomon and other party officials were also present.
