Amidst these giants, Maria Jennifer, the candidate for the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), is gaining significant attention. Maria and her husband Deepak Solomon, who previously worked in Dubai and mobilized support for NTK through the 'Senthamizhar Pasarai' overseas wing, have returned to their hometown to work full-time for the party.

Deepak Solomon is an NTK state official, and since they hail from the coastal village, they have built a strong personal connection with the local community. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Maria Jennifer secured over 52,000 votes, pushing several established candidates to third place. Now, Seeman has fielded her for the Kanyakumari Assembly constituency.

The couple is conducting 'porch campaigns' (Thinnai Pracharam) across coastal villages, meeting people at their homes. They release daily videos on social media with evidence regarding the plunder of natural resources and mineral wealth in the district. This digital strategy has confused major political parties, who are now forced to issue counter-videos. The couple stated that political parties like DMK, AIADMK, Congress, and BJP have repeatedly deceived the people, and they are campaigning to protect the livelihoods of farmers, fishermen, and hill tribes.
