Order issued to remove encroachment compound wall in Indira Colony
Nagercoil, Dec 18: An official order has been issued to remove an encroachment compound wall in Indira Colony, Chenbagaramanputhur. Maria Jennifer, the state coordinator of the Naam Tamilar Katchi Women's Wing, issued a statement regarding this matter. She stated that more than 500 families of the Adi Tamil community reside in the Indira Colony area of the Chenbagaramanputhur Panchayat in Thovalai Taluk. Fifteen years ago, under the pretext of setting up a government rubber park and providing employment opportunities for the local people, infrastructures including a library and playground belonging to the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department were taken over. Furthermore, about 500 acres of land, including patta lands belong to the local residents, were allegedly acquired at low prices or seized.
