Maria Jennifer, the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) candidate for the Kanyakumari assembly constituency, conducted a door-to-door campaign in areas including Anjugramam and Palkulam. Addressing the public, she criticized the current administration for displacing poor people from cities under the guise of beautification projects and relocating them to areas lacking basic infrastructure. She highlighted that in many Adi-Tamil residential areas, the MLA development funds are not being utilized correctly for the welfare of the scheduled communities, and often, funds are returned to the central government. Jennifer promised that as an MLA, she would maintain transparency in the allocation of constituency development funds, providing essential amenities like roads, streetlights, clean drinking water, and sanitation to neglected communities without disrupting their livelihoods.
