A protest was organized by the Naam Tamilar Katchi in Kanyakumari district demanding the removal of Government TASMAC shop No. 4740. The shop, located in the Marungoor Town Panchayat under Agastheeswaram Taluk, is situated on the road leading to Amaravathivilai. Protesters claim the shop's location causes significant disturbance to school-going children, women, and the general public. The demonstration was led by Maria Jennifer, the 2026 assembly constituency candidate for Kanyakumari. District Secretary Deepak Solomon presided over the event. Other participants included Veera Thamizhar Munnani State Deputy Secretary Mayiladi Perumalpuram Kalaimani and many others who braved heavy rain to participate.
