Nagercoil, Aug 6: The movie 'Kingdom' has been released in several theaters across Tamil Nadu. It is alleged that this film contains defamatory scenes regarding the Tamil Eelam issue. Consequently, the Naam Tamilar Katchi chief coordinator Seeman had announced a protest to besiege theaters screening 'Kingdom'.

In Kanyakumari district, 'Kingdom' was being screened at a theater in Vadasery, Nagercoil. NTK announced that a protest to besiege this theater would be held today (6th). Accordingly, NTK officials gathered in front of the theater this morning. They then attempted to carry out the siege. Upon learning this, the police arrived immediately and held talks with the protesters. Furthermore, the screening of 'Kingdom' was stopped at the theater. Following an agreement reached during the talks, the siege protest was withdrawn. Later, NTK members tore down 'Kingdom' movie posters pasted outside the cinema theater. This caused a stir in the area.
