Maria Jennifer, State Women's Wing Coordinator for Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), has issued a sharp condemnation of Forest Minister Raja Kannappan’s recent remarks regarding the establishment of a government rubber industrial park in Kanyakumari district.

During a recent inspection, when reporters questioned the Minister about the park, he responded dismissively, claiming it was impossible and citing issues with current worker salaries. Maria Jennifer highlighted that the industrial park has been a long-standing demand of the people of Kanyakumari to generate local employment. She pointed out the government's pattern of broken promises, noting that the DMK had also failed to deliver on its pledge for a local Law College. In her statement, Maria Jennifer accused the administration of prioritizing private interests over the welfare of laborers.
