Maria Jennifer, the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) candidate for the Kanyakumari Assembly constituency, conducted a door-to-door campaign in the Kovalam area. During her interactions, she distributed pamphlets and discussed her vision for the constituency's development. She emphasized that fishing villages like Kovalam still lack basic infrastructure and promised to address the long-standing demand for a safe fishing harbor (groynes). On the occasion of Good Friday, she drew inspiration from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, stating it provides the determination to fight for the marginalized. Her key promises include improving transport links between tourist spots, upgrading sanitation and parking facilities, and developing historic and natural sites into major tourist attractions to boost the local economy through community participation.
