Naam Tamilar Katchi candidate for Kanyakumari constituency, Maria Jennifer, actively campaigned yesterday across various areas within the constituency. During her door-to-door campaign, she distributed pamphlets and interacted with the public.

Speaking to the people, she criticized the Dravidian parties' claims about world-class medical infrastructure in Tamil Nadu, stating that hospitals are just buildings without proper facilities. She questioned if government hospitals in places like Bhoothapandi or Thadikarankonam have adequate medicine, doctors, or basic infrastructure. She pointed out the lack of sea ambulances for fishermen and specialized poison treatment centers for workers in rubber and hill estates.

She expressed concern over the rising cancer rates in the district and the lack of modern medical facilities, forcing residents to travel to neighboring states for treatment. She concluded by promising that if elected, she would upgrade government hospitals and primary health centers into trustworthy institutions, integrating modern science with traditional medicine to make Kanyakumari a medical tourism hub with equal, free, and quality healthcare for all.
