Maria Jennifer, the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) candidate for the Kanyakumari assembly constituency, conducted a door-to-door campaign in various areas seeking votes. Addressing the public, she stated that NTK successfully closed an illegal government liquor shop through legal action after it was found to be violating distancing norms near worship places. She mentioned that reports were submitted to the District Collector and the court to prove the nuisance caused by the shop. She emphasized that while they have achieved some changes through protests and legal battles, many issues like drinking water scarcity, sewage problems, and drug (ganja) proliferation still persist. She requested the public to empower NTK with their votes to provide better solutions and concluded by saying they would always stand with the people even without power, but authority would allow them to do more.
