Continuous Mineral Looting Under DMK Governance: Kanyakumari Transformed into a Garbage Heap
Nagercoil, March 22: Speaking at a public meeting titled 'We Tamils at the Tip of Kumari' held in Aralvaimozhi on behalf of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), state propaganda secretary Saattai Duraimurugan alleged that mineral looting has been rampant under the DMK regime. He noted that while Kanyakumari attracts 30 lakh tourists every year, it is currently being treated like a garbage dump due to administrative neglect. He criticized the local MLA Thalavai Sundaram for failing to utilize development funds effectively, stating only 34 lakhs were spent on fishermen over five years. He further questioned the achievements of the DMK government, highlighting the state's debt of 10.67 lakh crores. The meeting was attended by NTK candidate Maria Jenifer and other district office bearers. Duraimurugan also took jabs at other political alliances, urging the public to vote for change.
