Arrest of sanitation workers at midnight: Naam Tamilar State Administrator Maria Jennifer condemns!

In Chennai, 900 people, including sanitation workers who had been protesting for 13 days in front of the Ripon Building and those who supported them, were arrested at midnight. Maria Jennifer, state coordinator of the Naam Tamilar Katchi Women's Wing, issued a statement condemning this action. She stated that the DMK government is suppressing the fundamental rights and peaceful protests of its own people to benefit a private tycoon from another state. She noted that such oppressive tendencies are not new in history, citing the Manjolai plantation workers' protest. She warned that this protest will not end at the Ripon Building and will continue until authority loosens its grip. Quoting various scriptures and literature, she emphasized that the tears and righteous anger of the people would eventually remove the current administration from power.
